As you may have surmised, the hobby of collecting and restoring full size railroad equipment is an expensive one to say the least.  Nearly all of our restoration work requires special equipment and services.  While we strive to do as much of the work as we can, we are severely limited by cost and manpower constraints.  In times past, we could rely on our proceeds from mainline excursions that we co-sponsored with Norfolk Southern Corporation.  It was great while it lasted, but those days are over.  Now, we must rely on proceeds from excursions on our own railroad.  Of course, since we are a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization, all moneys received is put back into our restoration projects.  Therefore, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that we are recognized as a tax-deductible charity 501 (c) (3) by the Internal Revenue Service and we do accept all monetary donations.  We have also received corporate donations from local companies and invite others interested to participate.  We recognize corporate sponsors in our NARM newsletter and on a display area at Chase.

The museum faces numerous rising expenses such as insurance for the structures, static displays and operating the excursion train, not to mention the rising costs of fuel, oil, etc.  If you, or your corporation could possibly be able to donate to this effort we would be very grateful! Please call our museum at (256) 851-6276 (NARM) and speak to a museum officer.
